The Challenge
Nexova was running on three physical servers in a co-location facility. They had no staging environment, 45-minute manual deployments, and zero observability. A single hardware failure had already caused 6 hours of downtime and cost the company two enterprise clients.
Our Solution
We designed a multi-AZ AWS architecture using EKS for container orchestration, RDS Aurora for the database, and Terraform for full infrastructure-as-code. We implemented blue-green deployments via GitHub Actions with automated rollback. Datadog provided full-stack observability — APM, logs, and infrastructure metrics in a single pane.
The Results
Migration completed in 8 weeks with zero downtime cutover using live database replication. Deployment time dropped from 45 minutes to 3 minutes. Cloud costs came in 28% lower than the old co-lo bill. No unplanned downtime in the 6 months since launch.
